During his visit, he met with strategic partners and key clients, attended important contract signing ceremonies, further optimized market positioning, built a brand portfolio and expanded overseas growth opportunities, making proactive contributions to the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. In the morning of April 21st, Man Shengan first visited Weichai Vietnam to meet with frontline employees and presided over a strategic meeting on Shandong Heavy Industry's operations in the Vietnamese market. He received reports on the business developments in Vietnam from subsidiaries including Weichai Group, SINOTRUK and Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.
Man Shengan emphasized that during the Central Conference on Neighborhood Diplomacy held from April 8 to 9, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the concept of 'building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.' On April 14, during his state visit to Vietnam, General Secretary Xi Jinping reaffirmed the deep-rooted “China-Vietnam friendship, comrades plus brothers” and called for advancing high-quality, comprehensive strategic cooperation to ensure steady and long-term progress in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Man pointed out that Vietnam is a strategic and high-potential market right at Shandong Heavy Industry Group’s doorstep, playing a crucial role in the Group’s international development. In 2024, the Group’s export revenue in Vietnam grew by 79% year-on-year. This strong growth continued into the first quarter of this year, with an additional 36% year-on-year increase. Both SINOTRUK’s heavy-duty trucks and Weichai’s engines hold leading positions in Vietnam’s market, earning strong brand recognition and reputation.
Man Shengan urged Shandong Heavy Industry Group to seize the momentum and take responsibility, reinforcing investments in the Vietnamese market and capitalizing on strategic growth opportunities. He emphasized the need to vigorously expand market share, by not only securing early advantages and targeting breakthroughs but also by advancing steadily and systematically. The Group should accelerate the introduction of new business lines and products, building upon the foundation of strengthening and scaling core businesses. He further called for accelerating local market integration, ensuring that products, manufacturing and aftermarket services are better aligned with the unique demands of the Vietnamese market. Man emphasized the importance of creating a differentiated competitive advantage through the strategy of 'offering what others lack, outperforming where others compete and excelling where others lead.' He also advocated for deepening strategic cooperation, aligning efforts on key directions, focusing on mutual benefits, targeting major objectives, and embracing a broad, long-term vision, enabling both parties to grow together and achieve win-win outcomes. Additionally, he called for optimizing human resource allocation, actively recruiting local talent, providing care for expatriate employees, and fostering a spirit of boldness, innovation and entrepreneurship among overseas staff to ensure the completion of all targets and goals.
Weichai Group: Empowering the Development of Vietnam’s Infrastructure and Equipment
In the afternoon of the 21st, Man Shengan visited ROX Group, a customer of Weichai generator set in Hanoi, and attended the delivery ceremony for the WPG2250B7 high-power generator set of Weichai. He conducted an on-site inspection of the generator’s operation. The event was attended by Pei Huikui, Vice President of ROX Group, and Li Huijiang, CEO of Biwei (Weichai’s channel partner), who both delivered remarks. ROX Group is a well-known company in Vietnam's real estate development and urban services sector. This collaboration provides backup power for a mixed-use residential and commercial complex. Currently, Weichai's high-power generators are experiencing explosive growth in the Vietnamese market, with widespread deployment in high-end buildings, industrial parks and data centers, providing robust support for the country’s infrastructure development.
On the 23rd, Man Shengan visited strategic partner Truong Hai Group in Ho Chi Minh City to review the outcomes of their strategic cooperation and held in-depth discussions with Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of Truong Hai Group. Truong Hai Group is one of Vietnam's leading automotive companies, with operations spanning automotive, agriculture, machinery, logistics and investment sectors. Currently, Truong Hai Group’s buses and light trucks are extensively equipped with Weichai’s powertrain products, including engines, transmissions, axles. Man Shengan stated that Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Truong Hai Group have established a trusted and long-term reliable strategic partnership. He highlighted the enormous potential for Shandong Heavy Industry’s various business segments to expand in the Vietnamese market. He expressed hope that both parties will continue to align efforts, pursue mutual growth, expand cooperation areas, broaden collaboration space and elevate the quality of their partnership. Tran Ba Duong emphasized that Weichai’s world-class full-range powertrain systems and rapid-response application and service framework have significantly contributed to the competitive edge of Truong Hai’s buses and light trucks in Vietnam. He added that, in the future, more products from Shandong Heavy Industry Group will be introduced to the Vietnamese market.
SINOTRUK: A Value Leader in Vietnam’s Commercial Vehicle Industry
In the morning of the 22nd, Man Shengang visited Hanoi to inspect SINOTRUKs largest channel partner in Vietnam, Vietnam Machinery. During the visit, he held discussions with Nguyen Vu Tru, Chairman of Vietnam Machinery, and together they witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement to localize the production of light-duty trucks between the companies. Both parties emphasized that, based on the success of their collaboration in heavy-duty trucks, they would further expand strategic cooperation in light-duty trucks, build an advanced, intelligent manufacturing base, seize the emerging opportunities in Vietnam’s light-duty truck market, support the country’s green and low-carbon development, and work together to establish SINOTRUK as the leading provider of a full range of commercial vehicles in the Vietnamese market.
In the afternoon of the 22nd, Man Shengang visited the construction site of a Vingroup project in Hanoi. He attended a ceremony celebrating the delivery of equipment orders from SINOTRUK and Shantui to Vingroup, a key strategic customer, and witnessed the signing of a new project agreement. Vingroup is Vietnam’s largest privately owned conglomerate, providing design, construction and related services for both civil and industrial projects. Man Shengang stated that Shandong Heavy Industry Group, working closely with its partners, is committed to delivering integrated transportation and construction solutions to customers in Vietnam, leveraging superior product performance, quality and efficient full-lifecycle services. Together, they aim to create greater value and establish a benchmark brand image. The event was also attended by Nguyen Trung Kien, Chief Procurement Officer of Vingroup, and Vu Ngoc Hung, Chairman of SINOTRUK’s channel partner Vietstar.
